Ecological Return to Cumbria Green Build Festival

It’s September and so Cumbria Green Build Festival is once again on the horizon - we’ve supported and been involved with this wonderful initiative by Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS) for too many years to mention!  Last year our ‘ Introduction to Refurbishment’ was so popular we have decided to devote a full day to the topic and so we are going to cover the ‘Refurbishment of Roofs, Walls and Floors.’

Niall shares his experience from Guest Speaking at CaGBC's Net Zero Summit

Ecological's Niall Crosson was recently invited as a guest speaker at the Canadian Green Building Council's - Net Zero Summit on the 30th May in Vancouver.  The Net Zero Summit is a pre-conference event featuring a kick-off to the GaGBC's Zero Carbon Buildings Standard.  The one-day event included five technical sessions which addressed the key challenges and opportunities for net-zero design and construction.  Delegates were introduced to a variety of talks which included.....

  • The foundational components of zero carbon buildings in real-life strategies for modelling and designing for net zero emissions

Guest Review - pro clima Intelligent Airtightness Training

Liam Driscoll (MCIOB, MICWCI Building Inspector/ Clerk of Works) provides a guest review of our pro clima Intelligent Airtightness Systems Training

Having first met Niall Crosson at a CPD event hosted by Ecological Building Systems for the Dublin Chapter, of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectors UK, I was very impressed by the academy that they had set up. I was particularly impressed with the mock-up room built to demonstrate the procedure for testing a building for airtightness, their knowledge of this area and the easy straight forward way of explaining this subject. I decided that I would like to learn more and enrolled on their course pro clima Intelligent Airtight System Installer Training Course.

Back to the Future at The Energy Show

It was incredible to see that among many technical products ranging from high-performance Solar Panels, heat pumps, combined heat and power and other impressive technical solutions, an ancient building material, lime and cork, used as far back as the Roman times won the award for the most energy efficient product.
