Main purpose

To care for and protect all wooden surfaces which have been treated with Auro oils

Use it on

Wooden furniture or floors treated with Auro oils

Overview

Wooden surfaces which have been oiled need to be cared for to keep them looking their best and to keep the wood protected. The Auro Care Oil helps to keep the surface looking it’s best.

Where to use it

The Auro Care Oil 106 can be used on all interior wooden surfaces which have been treated with Auro oils. It is suitable for both furniture and floors. The wood should be clean, in good condition, dry and stable. Your surfaces will be protected against dirt and water, and it will also be breathable and anti-static

It is available in 1 litre and has a coverage of up to 83sq/m.

What it does

It prolongs the lifetime of your oil by adding protection in an eco-friendly way, also allowing the surface to breathe contributing to a healthy indoor climate.

Why we love it

It is a vegan friendly product. It is solvent free so therefore a very low odour. It’s suitable for use on toys which means it’s a very safe product.

How it works

The application of the Auro Care Oil 106 will rejuvenate your oiled surface making it look like new again. The surface should be firstly cleaned using for example Auro Floor Cleaner 427 for floors or Auro Paint and Stain Cleaner 435 for furniture surfaces.

Hint and tips

It is important not to crumple up cloths with oils on them as they could spontaneous combust. Instead cloths should be spread out and allowed to dry and when dry they can be reused again or disposed of in the household waste.

Some wood types such as Chestnut, and Oak contain active tannin substances, and this can slow down drying time. Lack of ventilation and high humidity can also slow down drying.

Installation Guide

How to install

The surface should be firstly cleaned using for example Auro Floor Cleaner 427 for floors or Auro Paint and Stain Cleaner 435 for furniture surfaces. The surfaces should then be allowed to dry fully, if the surface is rough a fine sanding can be done by using very fine sandpaper. Avoid using any sanding or grinding objects containing metals as these can lead to undesirable staining.

For smaller surfaces such as wood panels or furniture the Care Oil 106 should be applied to a water moistened cloth or sponge then distributed evenly on the surface. After approx. 10 minutes the milky appearance should disappear, and the surface can be polished. After 24 hours of drying the surface can bear loads again, and another coat can be applied (only if necessary).

It is applied a little different on floors. For the 1st coat the Auro Care Oil 106 is diluted 1:1 with water. It should then be distributed across the floor leaving a slightly wet layer. After 15 minutes a polishing machine with a white or beige pad should be used to polish the floor.  Again 24 hours should pass before the floor is walked on or exposed to water. If applying another coat, the oil should be applied undiluted and again polished the same way.
