Rijksmuseum - Amsterdam

We have just heard from our partners at Calsitherm, that Climate Board will be used in the restoration of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The museum is home to some of the finest art Masterpieces.
A 50mm board will be used to insulate around 5,000 square metres on the internal side of the external walls.
One of the key criteria for choosing Climate Board is its high capillary action which ensures humidity regulation, essential for climate control where priceless paintings are exhibited. Calsitherm is made from calcium silicate, a micro porous capillary active mineral building material with effective insulating properties. The nature of the material ensures that mould cannot form on its surface. Simply applying 3cm of Calsitherm Climate Board on a 500mm solid stone wall can reduce heat loss by up to 50%.
See the Rijksmuseum website for more information about the Museum.
