Ecological launches Centre Of Knowledge & Fabric First Seminars

With building standards and regulations becoming more stringent than ever, there is a requirement to increase knowledge in the delivery of truly low energy, durable, healthy buildings. This can only be achieved by focusing on the fabric of the construction. Construction industry professionals are finding themselves faced with products and systems that can require very different skills from more traditional building materials and methods.

With this in mind the Centre has been developed to help address the skills gap facing the construction industry – a key barrier to meeting targets for improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of our built environment. The Centre will also be an invaluable resource for specifiers and anybody interested in sustainable building products and solutions.

The facility includes a seminar room and trades training areas. Ecological Building Systems will offer lecture based and practical courses covering a range of subjects. These include internal and external thermal insulation and airtightness detailing and demonstrations. The ‘Centre of Knowledge’ also includes a large showroom which will enable trainees, customers and building professionals to see large scale models showcasing our products and systems in a range of new build and refurbishment applications.

Training will be provided by Ecological Building System’s skilled and experienced staff. It will be targeted at a range of experienced industry professionals, including contractors, builders’ merchants and architects, as well as home owners. With Ecological’s vast experience with award winning products on pioneering low energy projects we are in a unique position to impart our knowledge to the public at this critical stage.

Ecological has prioritised the need not just to supply a high quality product, but also provide back up with equivalent technical support and training. We have developed a wealth of knowledge based on our experiences and that of our supplier partners in Germany, notably, pro clima, GUTEX, Calsitherm and Thermo Hemp.
