sasmox

Gypsum Bonded Wood Particle Board

  • SASMOX has high racking strength (2.25kN for 10mm fixed at 140mm centres) & has excellent impact resistance.
  • SASMOX achieves major sound reductions in both airborne & impact sound
  • SASMOX can be tongued & grooved, sanded & drilled with an ordinary power drill

Features

  • SASMOX is fire resistant due to its’ 83% gypsum content
  • SASMOX is immensely strong as it contains timber/cellulose fibres
  • SASMOX is a high performance sound insulator
  • SASMOX is light in colour with a fine surface which allows you to wallpaper, veneer or paint straight on to it
  • SASMOX can be easily worked with hand tools, giving a clean neat finish with no break-out
  • SASMOX has excellent screw- holding ability, so fixings can be made direct
  • SASMOX can be stapled, nailed or screwed & is available in a range of thicknesses, board sizes & edge details
  • SASMOX can be fitted directly to many surfaces & framing systems including timber, steel & concrete
  • SASMOX is safe & environmentally friendly, with no glues or additives & it has no harmful emissions

Properties

Fire Resistant

Fire Resistant

Class 1 surface spread of flame (BS 476:1987 Part 7) Class 0 (Building Regs UK) Building materials class A2, non-flammable (DIN) Fire Resistance 15 to 20 minutes.
Strong & Durable

Strong & Durable

Can be fixed with small headed nails. The wood fibres in the gypsum provide a good hold for screw threads. No special fastenings required.
Efficient Sound Insulation

Efficient Sound Insulation

Provides excellent sound insulation. Suitable frame structures & proper installation allow wall structures which fulfill stringent requirements e.g. hotels, hospitals, schools, offices & industrial buildings
Safe Product

Safe Product

Safe materials, wood & gypsum are used to make SASMOX. It does not contain glues or asbestos
Good Working Properties

Good Working Properties

Cutting the board with a saw leaves a clean, sharp edge. The panel can be tongued & grooved, sanded & drilled with an ordinary powerdrill
Seamless Wall Surfaces

Seamless Wall Surfaces

Boards can be jointed using SASMOX jointing compound to produce seamless wall surfaces which can be painted, papered or tiled.

Structure

Structure

Gypsum makes up approximately 83% of the weight of a SASMOX building panel, whilst the share of wood fibres is 15%. The moisture content of the panel is about 2% in normal conditions (RH 65%). The structure is based on the bond produced in the press between gypsum & wood fibres. No glue is used in the production. The panels do not contain asbestos & they do not emit substances hazardous to health.

The entire SASMOX panel consists of wood & gypsum. The visible surface is dense, smooth & of light tone.
