Sound Reduction Flooring System
- silentTop is a sound reduction flooring system that provides both acoustic & thermal insulation
- silentTop 1 consists of high density fibre strips (HDF) which can be installed vertically or horizontally
- The insulation panels consist of HOMATHERM® flexCL 040 cellulose sheets which are made from recycled newsprint
- silentTop 1 HDF strips are compatible with OSB, plywood or any load bearing sheet material
- silentTop 1 HDF strips can be placed under parquet, tiles or carpet
- silentTop 4 is an advanced system which facilitates the fixing of floorboards to the half wood, half HDF strips provided ie Tongue & Groove or any system that must be nailed or screwed to the strips
- silentTop 4 uses a specialist strip consisting of timber on one side & HDF on the other
- Supports up to 200kg/m2 or 400kg/m2 with additional strips
silentTop 1
- Slabs of HOMATHERM® flexCL (600 X 420 X 40mm)
- Double sided high density fibre battens (1200 X 80 X 40mm)
- HOMATHERM® flexCL is fixed between battens with a floating floor applied on top
- Ideally, floor covering is not nailed or screwed to the battens
- HOMATHERMŽ silentTop 1 can support loads of up to 200 kg/m2
- The load bearing HDF strips (40 x 80 x 1200 mm) are 500mm in width when the HOMATHERMŽ insulation panels (FlexCL 40 x 420 x 600 mm) are taken into account
- The insulation is available in thicknesses of 40, 60, 80 & 100 mm
- It is recommended that this system should be installed in floating floor situations
silentTop 4
As silentTop 1 with:
- One side timber the other side high density fibre
- The timber on the battens allows the fixing of floor boards
- HOMATHERMŽ silentTop 4 provides the possibility of fixing various types of floorboards to the strips provided
- Therefore, in a situation where T&G flooring is desired, the floor boards may be nailed or screwed to the strips provided
- The silentTop 4 system is identical to silentTop 1. The difference between the two systems is that the strips used in silentTop 4 are made from half wood & half HDF connected to each other
- The system is available in thicknesses of 40, 60, 80 & 100mm
- Suitable strips are supplied with thicker insulation panels
- The wall strips are provided separately from the flooring system
