Foam tapes available on the market may have the disadvantage that they do not penetrate into the spunbound structure of the roofing underlay/membrane and seal only superficially. Upon exposure to rain combined with wind, moisture can then seep between foam tape and spunbond up to the nail opening and hence penetrate the construction.
