Product Information
Thermo-Hemp Provides Effective Vapour Permeability Giving
You A Naturally Healthy Indoor Living Atmosphere Because Thermo-Hemp has naturally excellent diffusion properties, the automatic regulation of moisture can be achieved. This in turn provides the occupant with a naturally healthy indoor living atmosphere. As the fibres in Thermo-Hemp do not contain protein there is no requirement for the treatment of the insulation material for moths or beetles.
Thermo-Hemp Insulation Helps Manage Summer Heat
Oppressive warmth entering the internal structure by summer sunshine is stored by Thermo-Hemp so that it can be given off again when external conditions become cooler. Only a sufficient amount of heat is allowed to pass through to the internal structure ensuring a comfortable internal living atmosphere.
Temperature Amplitude Damping v
The temperature amplitude damping v can be defined as how the temperature difference of the outside air (mainly during the summer period), can be dampened until it reaches the inside of the building. In this case, little difference in temperature & heat permeation delay is required.
Phase Deceleration (PV) h
The value for phase deceleration is determined by the time difference between the temperature peak outside & the temperature peak inside. This value is measured in hours. The phase deceleration can be determined by the amount the high temperatures from the outside can be delayed, so that the permeation of energy to the inside will be effective during the cooler night.

A phase deceleration = 7.1h & a temperature amplitude damping v = 7.14* ha been calculated by the Fraunhofer Institute for Construction Physics in Stuttgart, Germany, for the following roof construction:
Roof cladding, battens 30mm, counter-battens 30mm, solitex PLUS Breathable Felt, Thermo-Hemp 160mm, DB+ Vapour Check, 24mm horizontal battens, plasterboard 12.5mm.
