Interbuild 2008

Ecological Building Systems provide intelligent building solutions & effective answers to environmental concerns, creating a living atmosphere for you which is environmentally sound & affordable

Developed specifically for the DIY loft insulation market, Warmcel 100 is supplied in 8 kg bags and can be easily installed between and over the joists to provide complete and even coverage of the loft floor to the thickness required for optimum insulation performance. To upgrade existing loft insulation, it is simply installed over the old material up to the recommended depth to achieve the desired improvement. It is an excellent alternative to glass and mineral fibre insulation quilts and is suitable for full insulation or just to top up existing insulation.

Warmcel 100 :

  • Is non-toxic, non-irritant and presents no health hazard whatsoever.
  • Is extremely resistant to fire and rodent attack.
  • Can be disposed of safely without creating toxic waste or biodegradability problems.
  • Uses very little energy to manufacture: much less than other insulation materials.
  • Has been installed in over one million homes in the Ireland and the UK.

Warmcel 100 has an impressive thermal conductivity value of only 0.035 W/mK. It is extremely resistant to fire and does not emit any noxious gases when exposed to flame. It is resistant to all biological attack: insects and fungal attack, including dry rot.

Manufactured from 100% recycled waste newspaper, Warmcel has extremely low embodied energy, requiring far less energy to produce than other mainstream insulation materials. By reducing heating demand, Warmcel plays a major part in reducing household CO2 emissions particularly in older buildings which require a simple to install, highly effective, healthy insulation.

Under the BRE's Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), Warmcel achieved Green Guide Ecopoint 'A' ratings. In comparison with other insulation materials, the Ecopoints rating for Warmcel was so good it exceeded the current best 'A' rating value. When, eventually, Warmcel insulation is removed from the attic, it can be recycled again or disposed of safely, without creating toxic waste or biodegradability problems.

How many bags of Warmcel do I need?

Enter the area and depth to which you wish to insulate in the boxes below and click on the Calculate button. This will tell you how many bags of Warmcel you need. The recommended thickness for loft insulation is 300mm but because all our natural insulation products are more thermally efficient we recommend a thickness of 250mm.
