Ecological Return to Cumbria Green Build Festival

It’s September and so Cumbria Green Build Festival is once again on the horizon - we’ve supported and been involved with this wonderful initiative by Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS) for too many years to mention!  Last year our ‘ Introduction to Refurbishment’ was so popular we have decided to devote a full day to the topic and so we are going to cover the ‘Refurbishment of Roofs, Walls and Floors.’

Our Senior Technical Engineer, Niall Crosson is joining us from Ireland to set the scene for the day talking about getting Retrofit’s Right and the impact of moisture in walls, our Cumbrian Technical Team, will then cover Walls, Roofs and Floors and the insulation options available to sympathetically upgrade existing buildings.  We are also delighted to have two guest speakers Tracey Hart, Associate Director of 2030 Architects based in Penrith, who will be sharing her experience of thermally upgrading and achieving airtightness on a traditional Lakeland farmhouse and Andrew Yeats, Principal from Eco Arc in Kentmere, Andrew is an Award winning Passivhaus Architect, who will discuss three recent refurbishment projects, including EnerPHit standards.  It’s not all theory there is a chance to see a practical session with Border Lime Construction, Jasper Kirkman and Martin Johnstone showing how to apply Diathonite Evolution, our Cork and Lime Plaster by hand and showing the full system, they will even have their spray machine on display.

We do hope you can join us on Wednesday, 20th September at Penrith Rugby Club, Cumbria there is ample parking.  There is a small charge of £11 per person towards refreshments and lunch on the day.  Please find attached a flyer about the event with full details and TO BOOK please go the CAfS website for booking through Eventbrite.
