Four workshops located in Yellowcoat Wood, Flimwell, East Sussex, have used GUTEX woodfibre board to insulate the units. The workshops will eventually number eight and have been designed by The Architecture Ensemble based in London. They form phase II of a development spearheaded by the Woodland Enterprises, a charitable trust. The buildings are virtually all timber, built from a combination of frames, prefabricated cross-laminated timber panels and Douglas fir timber cladding. For the workshop walls, 100mm GUTEX Ultratherm tongue and groove woodfibre board was trimmed and screwed directly onto the timber panels. For the roofs, 120mm GUTEX Thermosafe Homogen was used followed by a layer of 22mm Multiplex Top tongue and groove screwed over the top and clad with Douglas fir battens and Douglas fir rainscreen boarding fixed directly over the insulation for the roofs and walls . See Woodnet for more information.
