The Diasen Acoustix Plus System is a holistic approach to acoustic insulation designed to create quieter, more comfortable spaces. Ideal for both internal and external walls and ceilings, this system effectively reduces noise transfer while delivering additional benefits like thermal insulation and moisture regulation. By integrating natural, breathable materials, the system supports healthier indoor climates and contributes to sustainable building practices.
For maximum acoustic performance, Diasen Diathonite Acoustix Plus plaster forms the heart of this system. Its unique composition - featuring cork, clay, and natural hydraulic lime - absorbs sound waves, prevents echo, and reduces noise reverberation. The seamless application ensures a continuous sound-insulating barrier, even on uneven surfaces or curved designs.
To achieve specific finishes, the system includes complementary products. For walls where maximum acoustic benefit is required, BKK Eco or Diasen breathable lime paint provides durable, breathable finishes that reduce dust and stains. For smoother aesthetics, Argatherm Acoustix can be combined with lime paint for a sleek look. Ceilings can also be treated with lime paint to optimise acoustic performance.
This system is more than just soundproofing - it’s a comprehensive solution that enhances comfort, regulates indoor temperature, and prevents condensation and mould growth. Whether you’re upgrading a residential property, commercial space, or public building, the Diasen Acoustix Plus System offers an efficient, eco-friendly method to reduce noise and create a healthier environment.
About Diasen Acoustix Plus System
The Diasen Acoustix Plus System provides exceptional flexibility and performance in acoustic insulation. Diathonite Acoustix Plus plaster is a natural and eco-friendly solution that effectively reduces noise transfer while providing thermal insulation and moisture regulation. A seamless application covering walls and ceilings provides a durable, sound-absorbing layer that performs even at minimal thicknesses.
For walls or ceilings that need the highest level of acoustic performance, a smoothing finish plaster is not used. The system instead integrates Acoustix Plus plaster with BKK Eco, which is a transparent breathable water repellent to reduce dust buildup and stains, or Diasen breathable lime paint for enhanced surface protection and a choice of colours. For spaces that prioritise a smooth finish, Argatherm Acoustix finishing plaster combined with lime paint offers a sleek aesthetic while maintaining acoustic quality.
Its versatility makes it suitable for homes, offices, and public buildings, ensuring quieter environments that are also thermally efficient and resistant to mould.
As with any Internal Wall Insulation system, the wall must have any sources of water infiltration from ground sources, poor pointing, water leaks or poorly maintained gutters/pipes etc made good before installing the insulation. Refer to our guidance document: “How to prepare walls for Internal Wall Insulation” for full details.

For Treating Walls (Maximum Acoustic Benefit)
For walls where the primary goal is to achieve the highest possible acoustic performance, Diasen Argatherm Acoustix is applied without a finishing plaster. The best way to finish these walls is by applying BKK Eco or Diasen Breathable Lime Paint as complementary finishes. These finishes enhance the system's sound-absorbing properties while providing practical benefits such as dust reduction and easier cleaning.

For Ceilings (Maximum Acoustic Benefit)
For ceilings requiring optimal acoustic performance, Diasen Argatherm Acoustix is applied as the core plaster layer, followed by a finish of Diasen Lime Paint. With no smooth finish plaster, this combination ensures effective sound absorption and provides an eco-friendly, breathable solution for ceiling applications.

For Walls Where a Smooth Finish is Desired
For a sleek, smooth aesthetic without compromising the system’s acoustic properties, Diasen Argatherm Acoustix is applied as the sound-absorbing base plaster. It is then finished with Argatherm Acoustix followed by Lime Paint. This combination ensures a high level of sound absorption while delivering a smooth look.
Acoustic Performance
Measure | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) | NRC is the average between 250Hz, 500Hz, 1000Hz and 2000Hz, it describes the sound absorption performance of a material. | 0.75 |
SAA (Sound Absorption Average) | The Sound Absorption Average (SAA) is the average sound absorption coefficient ranging between 200 and 2500 Hz. | 0.72 |
Sound absorption class | The UNI EN ISO 11654 standard identifies sound absorption classes. These classes are divided by decreasing sound-absorption values from A to E. | CLASS C |
Applying 2cm of Diathonite Acoustix Plus to an 8cm hollow brick partition reduces the transmission of noise by 3dB compared to a traditional plaster.
