Overview
Tescon Rapic is an easy-to-use airtight tape with no release strip/paper backing. It can seal airtight membranes and windtight breather membranes internally or externally at overlaps, edges, penetrations and connections to most surfaces commonly found in buildings (a primer may be required). It can be exposed to UV and weathering for up to 3months prior to completion of the building’s external finish.
Where to use it
Tescon Rapic achieves permanent adhesion on all Pro Clima internal or exterior membranes and other membranes made of PE, PA, PP and aluminium. It can also be used to tape joints between rigid wood-based panels such as chipboard, OSB, MDF and plywood.
For good adhesion to smooth, mineral surfaces (concrete or plaster), Tescon Primer RP or Tescon Sprimer should be used to stabilise the surface before applying the tape. On surfaces that are painted or may come away, detach or delaminate, we recommend doing an adhesion test first.
Tescon Rapic is not recommended for taping wood-fibre insulation boards.
What it does
Tescon Rapic is an easy-to-use adhesive tape for airtight sealing of membranes and airtight accessories. It has no release strip/paper backing so reduces waste on site and can be installed straight from the roll.
Why we love it
As the tape can be torn by hand, no cutting tools are required. Time is also saved during installation because there is no removal, picking up or disposal of release paper when using the tape.
Even though the Tescon Rapic can be peeled from its roll quickly and easily, it exhibits full adhesive strength when it is stuck to itself once installed. This is due to only slow acting forces being applied to the adhesive bond during the lifetime of the building.

Installation Guide
Find an installerSurfaces must be stable, dry and free of dust, silicone and grease. Brush off surfaces if necessary or use a vacuum cleaner, then wipe down.
Carry out an adhesion test on painted surfaces, or on any surface that might come away, detach or delaminate. Peel a short manageable length from the roll.
Position the Tescon Rapic on the centre of the joint or membrane overlap then roll out the tape and press it down as you go applying firm pressure with a Pro Clima Pressfix Tool.
