Product Focus CPD: Pro Clima Airtight Liquid Membranes and Aerofixx

In both new builds and retrofits there will be times where it is difficult to maintain an uninterrupted airtight layer. Trying to seal hard-to-reach areas can be time consuming and frustrating, but sometimes complexity is unavoidable.

For our next ‘Product Focus’ CPD, Pro Clima will present their range of Aerosana Visconn airtight liquid membranes. This CPD will feature a LIVE DEMO of Aerosana being spray applied using the recently launched Aerofixx handheld spray applicator.

The 'Product Focus' series of CPDs was developed in response to the success of our online presentations and training. The principle of these CPDs is to allow our partners to directly present their products in conjunction with Ecological Building Systems.

Description

Who it is for

This training is aimed at professionals from all disciplines of the building design and construction industry, specifically, for those who are interested in airtightness detailing and liquid applied airtight membranes.

As this is an open CPD with participants joining from different organisations, we are offering virtual design reviews with individuals following the CPD to enable you to discuss the details of specific projects with our technical team.

If you have a number of colleagues who wish to attend and a more tailored approach would be preferable, we can provide a dedicated virtual CPD for your team, which can be requested by sending an email to us at info@ecologicalbuildingsystems.com

What you learn

This CPD will demonstrate how the Aerofixx spray applicator and moreover, Pro Clima’s range of airtight liquid membranes, simplify intricate airtightness details and offer installers a solution to often complex problems.

You will learn about the difference between Aerosana Visconn and Aerosana Visconn Fibre, where to use them, and the unique properties and benefits of each.

Following the CPD you will be better informed with regards to the setup of the Aerofixx spray applicator, and the installation and specification of a liquid applied airtight membrane.

You will also have the opportunity to see a LIVE DEMO of the Aerofixx being used on some common substrates and tricky areas on site.

What you will do

You will receive industry leading online training from highly experienced technical professionals with the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the speakers. We will show examples of how to seal tricky areas onsite with an airtight liquid membrane and and can arrange to send samples following the training.

What happens on the day

You will receive an email containing the link to join the virtual CPD which will be taking place via Zoom.

There will be a brief introduction, followed by the presentation, with the opportunity to ask questions throughout the presentation via the chat box. We'll answer as many questions as possible at various points during the session and afterwards via email if we run short of time.

As this is an open CPD with participants joining from different organisations, we are offering virtual design reviews with individuals to enable you to discuss specific projects in more detail with our technical team. This can be requested by sending an email to us at info@ecologicalbuildingsystems.com

Points Gained

This CPD is a 1.5 hour stand-alone CPD providing one and a half points towards maintaining your professional standard. This can be doubled with an additional 1-2 hour related activity (see RIBA website for more details).

Sustainable architecture is a rapidly developing area and is a RIBA core curriculum topic. There is a requirement for a minimum of 2 hours to be spent on each of the core 10 topics.

Continued Development

The content of this CPD provides excellent background knowledge for the creation of long-lasting energy efficient sustainable buildings. Our other CPDs develop these concepts for different types of insulation and building methods.

In Ireland, we offer regular Airtightness training at our state-of-the-art Centre of Knowledge training facility based in Athboy, Co. Meath. In the UK, we also have a dedicated training area in Cumbria where we offer practical Airtightness training, giving delegates the opportunity to experience Airtightness installation first-hand on our life-size timber frame demo wall.

Given the current Covid-19 situation, we have temporarily suspended our practical training in both the UK and Ireland but we're reviewing this on a regular basis and hope it won't be too long before we can offer this again.
