Lake District Farmstead Retrofit
A charming farmstead in the Lake District, dating back to the mid-17th century, with listed buildings, was brought up to date with an improved thermal envelope, insulation, solar panels and a ground source heat pump.
Gutex Thermoroom was used to insulate around many of the windows, whilst the internal walls were insulated with Diasen Diathonite Thermactive.037 lime and cork based insulating plaster. Our lime-based finishing plaster was applied before a natural breathable paint. Curved wall edges maintained an authentic feel and character of the buildings.
