Heat recovery ventilation fans are designed to retain indoor warmth while supplying fresh air. The fans function in synchronised pairs linked to a controller: one fan removes stale air from the room, while the other introduces fresh air from outside. Every 70 seconds, both fans reverse direction, allowing heat from the extracted air to be absorbed by the units as it leaves the building. When fresh air as it is brought back in, the stored heat is used to warm it up as it enters the building.
