Pro Clima Fronta Quattro FB Connect
Product Overview
Main purpose
A fire-retardant, UV resistant breather membrane that has a Euro Fire classification of B-s1, d0 (only when applied to non-combustible substrates) to comply with the Part B Building Regulations Section 7(2) in England and Wales and the revised Scotland Section 2 Building Regulations for using membranes in tall buildings.
Also has a plain black appearance for use with open jointed cladding (looks entirely black through the gaps) and an integrated self-adhesive tape for quicker and easier installation without needing any additional tape for the overlaps.
Use it on
External walls of newbuild tall buildings and low-rise buildings where a minimum Reaction to Fire Classification (EN13501-1) of B-s1, d0 is required for the external breather membrane and where open jointed cladding or closed cladding will be used.
Overview
Pro Clima Solitex Fronta Quattro FB is a plain-black fire-retardant breathable membrane with a Euro Fire Classification of B-s1,d0. This means it meets the requirements set out in the new England and Wales Part B Section 7(2) Building Regulations and the Scotland Section 2 Building Regulations for the use of membranes in tall buildings. With no printing on its surface, and excellent UV resistant, Solitex Fronta Quattro FB Connect can be used behind open jointed cladding systems with gaps of up to 30mm as well as behind closed jointed cladding. The plain black appearance looks great when seen through the gaps in open jointed cladding. A further feature is that the product has its own integrated tape system for ease of sealing the overlaps without the need for additional tape.
Features
- Reaction to Fire Classification of B-s1,d0 (EN13501-1) when applied to non-combustible substrates
- 6 months UV resistant
- Black in Colour
- Contains an integrated tape system
- Fully watertight & windtight breathable membrane
Benefits
- Complies with the fire regulations in the UK and Ireland including the new England and Wales Part B Building Regulations Section 7(2) and the new Scotland Section 2 for membranes in tall buildings (when applied to non-combustible substrates)
- Can be used behind open jointed cladding (up to 30mm gaps) as well as behind closed jointed cladding. Can be left exposed for up to 6 months before cladding is installed.
- Cannot be seen through the gaps in the open jointed cladding

Installation Guide
Find an installerSolitex Fronta Quattro FB Connect should be installed with its plain black surface facing outwards (towards the environment). This is the UV stable weatherproof side. Ensure the membrane surface is clean and free of dust, debris and grease
If open jointed cladding will be installed over the top, each piece of cladding must be at least three times wider than the gap; the maximum gap width is 30mm. A ventilation space between the membrane and the cladding must be at least 20mm.
When installed on walls horizontally, lengths of membrane higher up the wall should overlap on top of membrane installed lower down, and then be sealed. This can be achieved by applying the first length of membrane at the bottom of the wall and then working upwards. This prevents water run-off getting behind the membrane (under the overlap) and is an additional level of protection against rainwater penetration.

Roll out the first length of membrane horizontally and fix taught to the structure with (minimum) 10mm wide and 8mm long galvanised staples. Fix the membrane every 100-150mm.

After laying the second row of membrane overlapping the first layer, the self-adhesive release strips should be lined up along the horizontal edge. You may use the printed guide on the edge of the membrane to assist with alignment. Then secure the second length of membrane with staples. Carefully remove the release strips. Avoid forming creases and wrinkles as you go and press down firmly on the adhesive with a Pressfix tool to ensure the strongest permanent windtight seal is achieved.

The use of black Pro Clima Tescon Invis Airtight tape is recommended for taping any areas (other than overlaps that are sealed with the built-in self-adhesive strips) that can be seen through gaps in open jointed cladding. Tescon Invis is entirely black so blends in perfectly with the plain black surface of Solitex Fronta FB Connect.

For sealing onto rough surfaces or concrete use Orcon F Airtight Adhesive. To seal to a window or door frame use Tescon Profil Airtight Window Tape or Tescon Invis Airtight Tape.
